Congratulations to the 20th anniversary at Devigus Engineering AG

1 May 2021

Ruedi Krummenacher has played a decisive role in the growth and success of Devigus Engineering AG. In this interview, he tells our sales and marketing team how he came to Devigus and why he has stayed so long.

How and when did you join Devigus Engineering, Ruedi?

I started in April 2001. During and after my training as a business IT specialist, I developed websites and database connections for an internet provider in Lucerne. After a few years in this booming environment, I was looking for a new challenge, explicitly in the professional software development environment.

Why did the Devigus company convince you?

The decision to join the company was made not only because of the good impression of the development department, but also because of the size of the company. I like a company with short administrative channels, where I can contribute my ideas directly and also make a difference. I also appreciate the good relationship I always have with my employees and of course with Arturo, as CEO and company owner.

What do you particularly like about your job?

I think that the variety of tasks suits me above all. In addition to the product and service development of our entire shareholder services range, I appreciate the cooperation with our development team as well as with the employees of the Operation Centre. As a product owner of AREGIS, I am also in contact with our customers, be it in the area of support or in contract negotiations or additional requests. In addition, there are management tasks in connection with Arturo's deputisation and our certifications. All in all, it's a very varied and exciting job in which I can contribute and help shape things at various levels.

Which highlight in all the years at Devigus do you remember most fondly?

Over such a long period of time, it is certainly difficult to highlight a specific highlight. Rather, I see the establishment of Shareholder Services, i.e. the change from pure software development to a service provider and sharing partner for questions concerning the share register and the general meeting, as a central component. It fills me with pride that in the meantime our opinion is more and more in demand also in technical questions.

What is the most important thing you have learned during your time at Devigus?

For me, the realisation that success is strongly dependent on team performance is central. To achieve optimal results, all members must work together to find a solution. In doing so, it is also important to consider other opinions or lateral thinkers. In the end, however, a decision must be made and implemented with all its consequences. Decisions may and must even be questioned so that mistakes can be corrected again.

What does your future look like?

Devigus continues to develop rapidly and very positively in a dynamic, digital environment: I would like to play my part and help to further establish Devigus as a centre of competence for shareholder services, including all the necessary services and products. The challenge is to maintain both customer and employee satisfaction at a high level. At the same time, a reduction to an 80% workload is planned outside the AGM season: This forces me to pass on my know-how to the crew and encourages all employees to share responsibility.

Thank you very much for the interview, Ruedi. We look forward to working with you in the future!
